# Rate Limits & Usage

To ensure system stability and support production-ready workflows, HS Ping enforces a unified rate limit of **1,000 lookups / minute** across all tiers.

This rate limit applies immediately to your account, including during your initial 100 trial lookup period.

## One-time Free Quota

All new accounts receive **100 trial lookups**.

This is a **one-time, non-recurring credit** applied immediately when you sign up — no credit card required.

Once the 100 trial lookups are exhausted, requests will return an `INSUFFICIENT_BALANCE` error until you choose a subscription tier. You will not be charged until you pick a plan and add payment details.
