# Single Lookup

The Single HS Code Lookup endpoint allows you to search for one HS code at a time.

This is perfect for real-time lookups, interactive search features, or when you are classifying based on a single detailed query.

## URL Parameters

  The search term to initiate a HS code search

<ParamField path="query_type" default={2} type="integer">
  Switch between 2 search modes:

  * 1 for HS code only search
  * 2 for full search mode (default mode)
</ParamField>

<ParamField path="country" default="wco" type="string">
  Two-letter ISO country code. Example: “US”, “CA”.

  Default to WCO 6 digits standard if not specified.

## Fields Descriptions

Each HS code object in the response contains the following fields:

  The country-specific HS code for the product, based on the country parameter in the query

  The WCO 6 digits HS code for the product
</ResponseField>

<ResponseField name="description_en" type="string">
  Country-specific description of the HS code from the tariff schedule
</ResponseField>

<ResponseField name="hierarchy" type="object" default={2}>
  The classification hierarchy this code belongs to
</ResponseField>

<ResponseField name="country" type="string">
  Two-letter ISO country code. Example: <kbd>"US"</kbd>, <kbd>"CA"</kbd>
</ResponseField>

<ResponseField name="source" type="string">
  The data source of this HS code.
</ResponseField>

<ResponseField name="version" type="string">
  The HS nomenclature version based on WCO release schedule. Example: <kbd>"2022"</kbd>, <kbd>"2027"</kbd>

  Whether this code applies to imports or exports. Example: <kbd>"import"</kbd>, <kbd>"export"</kbd>
